Khalaf Khalafov Becomes Deputy Minister Again

Baku / 04.05.19 / Turan: By the order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Khalaf Khalafov has been appointed Deputy Foreign Minister of the country. He is also entrusted with the mission of the special representative of the President on the issues of borders and the Caspian Sea.

Khalafov served as Deputy Foreign Minister from 1997 to December 2018. At the end of last year, Khalafov was appointed head of the Cabinet Office.

Khalafov"s return to the post of Deputy Minister is obviously connected with the actualization of the work on the delimitation and demarcation of the borders with Georgia.

As Deputy Foreign Minister, Khalafov was the main negotiator on the delimitation of borders with neighboring countries, as well as the development of the legal status of the Caspian Sea and the delimitation of the seabed between coastal states. -06D--
