Baku / 10.10.20 / Turan: “It is important for us to recognize their (Karabakh) right to self-determination and its implementation, which will also lead to the realization of their right to self-determination, and will provide the reality that they must live freely and decide their own destiny as a unit recognized by all as an independent country."

Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stated this to the Public Television of Armenia upon completion of the talks in Moscow.

Thus, official Yerevan makes it clear that it still rejects the stage-by-stage settlement option and the resolution of the conflict within the framework of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.

These are the results of the 11-hour talks in Moscow, which Russia presents as a diplomatic success. In fact, Yerevan gets a respite to defend its position again.

As for the text of the agreement itself, Mnatsakanyan interprets the need to preserve the format of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship as preventing Ankara from entering the settlement.

"No other force, in particular Turkey, can play any role," Mnatsakanyan stressed.

Summing up the results of the talks, he described them as an effort to eliminate "a serious challenge, a situation that threatens the physical safety of our compatriots."

Official Baku has not yet expressed its attitude to Mnatsakanyan's statement, but it is clear what will be the reaction of Azerbaijan.     -02B-
