Turkish Foreign Ministry: We Support Baku in Negotiations, on Battlefield
Ankara / 10.20.20 / Turan: Azerbaijan gave Armenia the last chance to withdraw troops from the occupied territories of the republic. This is stated in the statement of the Turkish Foreign Ministry in connection with the beginning of the ceasefire agreement in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The statement emphasizes that the ceasefire agreement is an important step, but in no way can it replace a long-term settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry recalled that the ceasefire is temporary and is aimed at exchanging prisoners and bodies of the dead.
“Starting from September 27, Azerbaijan has shown to the whole world its determination and readiness to liberate the lands that have been under Armenian occupation for 30 years by its own forces. Ankara will support only those steps to resolve the Karabakh conflict that meet the interests of Azerbaijan. Turkey expresses its determination to continue supporting Azerbaijan both on the battlefield and at the negotiating table,” the document says. -02D-

Azerbaijan is positioning itself as a key energy partner for Europe amidst growing challenges in the natural gas market following the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine. The disruption, marking the end of a decade-long transit route, is expected to heighten competition in the global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market and drive up prices for alternative energy sources.
