Monument to peacekeeper unveiled on the territory of the Russian military town in Nagorno-Karabakh
Baku/11.11.21/Turan: On November 10, a monument to the peacekeeper was unveiled on the territory of the Russian military town near Khankendi. The event was timed to coincide with the first anniversary of the entry of the Russian peacekeeping contingent into Nagorno-Karabakh, th statement of the Russian Defense Ministry.
The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant-General Rustam Muradov, deputy commander of the Southern Military District, and Gennady Anashkin, commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The bronze monument depicts a peacekeeper with a submachine gun, hugging a girl who gives him flowers. The prototype of the monument was a real participant in the peacekeeping mission. The ceremony also included the laying of a time capsule with a message to descendants, the report said.-0-
