Baku/28.09.20/Turan: The conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh is a cause for serious concern for Moscow and many other countries, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

“We believe that hostilities should be stopped immediately, and the settlement of the conflict and the consequences of the current aggravation should go into a political and diplomatic channel,” he told RIA.

When asked about the possibility of increasing Russia's combat readiness in the light of the situation in the region, Peskov said that now there was no talk of military options. He also added that Moscow is in contact with Ankara on the situation in Karabakh. If necessary, Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a telephone conversation with the leadership of Azerbaijan, Peskov specified.

“We call on all parties, primarily the parties to the conflict, to maximum restraint, to abandon military methods,” Peskov said. -02D-
