Mubariz Gurbanly: duties of the deputy chairmen of the Yeni Azerbaijan Party (YAP) are not determined yet

Nomination of Ilham Aliyev  for the  third term of presidency is in full conformity with the Constitution of Azerbaijan, said Mubariz Gurbanly, deputy executive secretary of the ruling party "Yeni Azerbaijan" Party (YAP) in an interview with "ObektivTV."   

 
According to him, the nomination of Aliyev  for a third term  is the “desire not only  of the YAP, but of the whole Azerbaijani society. "
 
Gurbanly rejected criticism on the undemocratic nature of  the nomination of Aliyev, saying that it  does not have “political and legal frameworks.”
 
Commenting on the statement of the leader of "Musavat" Isa Gambar that the nomination
 Of Aliyev by YAP "is not a final decision," Gurbanly said: "Radicals have a great desire  that Ilham Aliyev  do not participate in the elections. However, YAP will never change  its decision."
 
Being asked  to comment on the election of Mehriban Aliyeva as the deputy chairman of the party, and  her functions in the party, Gurbanly said  that nomination of Aliyeva for this position  is natural, as  she has done much for the party.
 
Recalling that elected four new deputy Gurbanly said that the distribution of responsibilities between them will be determined in subsequent discussions in the party.
 
He noted that the current work in the party perform the executive secretariat and district organizations.
 
Commenting on the possibility of a dialogue between the government and the opposition Gurbanly said there is an  atmosphere for dialogue, but the radical wing of the opposition closes the door to dialogue by their actions, occupying the path of confrontation.
 
Regarding the creation of the National Council , Gurbanly said that the opposition  used to unite under a variety of names. In his view, regardless  of their name, the essence  of the opposition does not change, and the opposition has the support of only two percent of the population.
 
Gurbanli said that   the responsibilities of the four  newly elected deputies will be determined in subsequent discussions in the party.
 
He noted that the current work in the party perform the executive secretariat and regional  organizations. 
 
According to Gurbanly,  Rustam Ibrahimbeyov as a candidate for the presidency is not a competitor for power. Ibrahimbeyov is not a good politician, and after a couple of meetings with the voters  he will  collapse, says Gurbanly.
 
Being asked to comment on the statement of Abbas Abbasov, the head of   "AzerRos", that certain forces in Azerbaijan aggravate anti-Russian  mood, Gurbanly said he did not understand what  Abbasov meant.
According to  Gurbanly, Abbas Abbasov meant the press which is  controlled by the radical opposition.
Official Baku has normal relations with Russia, and  the  Russian Congress of Azerbaijanis functions in Russia, said Gurbanly.–06D-
