Musavat: Azerbaijani authorities should demand clarification from the Kremlin
Baku/02.04.21/Turan: Official Baku should demand explanations from Russia for the use of prohibited weapons against Azerbaijan in the 44-day Karabakh war. In addition, Azerbaijan should apply to international organizations for the immediate withdrawal of the Karabakh settlement process from the monopoly of Russia, stated the opposition “Musavat” Party in connection with the discovery of fragments of “Iskander” ballistic missiles in Shusha by specialists of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).
The Party called on the public and political forces of Azerbaijan to show solidarity and express a principled position in accordance with the national interests of the country. The Party draws attention to the fact that the discovered missile fragments do not belong to “Iskander-E”, provided by the Russian Federation to Armenia, but to “Iskander-M”, which are medium-range missiles with a radius of 500 km.
The export of such missiles is contrary to the US-Soviet agreements of 1987. ANAMA released the identification numbers of the missiles and the coordinates of their impact.
The belonging of the identification number to the “Iskander-M” complexes, which are only in service with the Russian Federation, was confirmed by Russian and Azerbaijani experts.
The Musavat party believes that in the Karabakh war Russia not only rendered military-political support to Armenia, but also directly involved in military operations struck Azerbaijan, which is an act of aggression. –03D06-
