Mustafa Hajibeyli: Razim Amiraslanly Most Likely Detained
Baku / 11.11.19 / Turan: The deputy chairman of the Musavat party, Razim Amiraslanly, was called to the Binagadi District Police Department of Baku on November 11 at 10.00.
“After he entered the police building, communication with him ceased. Calls to his cell phone did not reach him. At 2 p.m. a meeting of the party’s Board was scheduled and he did not attend it. The Binagadi district police department denied that Amiraslanly was in this department,” Mustafa Hajibeyli, head of the Musavat press service, told Turan.
Most likely, Amiraslanly was detained, as he was not released before evening, Hajibeyli said.
Since November 11 was not a working day and the law offices did not work, it was not possible to call a lawyer to clarify Amiraslanly's fate, Hajibeyli summed up. –06D-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.
