National Council condemned the dirty attacks on the presidential candidate Jamil Gasanli
Baku/20.09.13/Turan : National Council of Democratic Forces made ??a statement in connection with the scandal at the televised debate between presidential candidates on public television on September 19 and inequities against the single candidate of the National Assembly Jamil Gasanli .
The statement said : "During the debates on September 19 on a single presidential candidate for the National Council Jamil Gasanli there was admitted behavior that ran counter to human ethics and the law.
During the debates Jamil Gasanli answered all the attacks with dignity and accuracy. He rightly pointed out that behind all these attacks is Ilham Aliyev .
The National Council , condemning the actions that took place in respect of Gasanli, will take decisive action to address them.
The National Council calls on the presidential candidate Ilham Aliyev to keep his supporters and their authorized representatives from dirty behaviors, defamatory campaign of the presidential election.
National Council reminds the leadership of ITV (Public Television) that illegal interference in the electoral debate contradicts the Electoral Code , calling to perform their duties without bias and clearly.
Leaders of ITV must restore the airtime taken away from Jamil Gasanli as a result of the interference of other candidates.
The National Council demands that the CEC in no time investigate the offense , which took place against Gasanli, restore his rights violated and take action against the person who committed these illegal acts .
The National Council recalls that the CEC members are responsible for the conduct of elections in a fair and lawful manner , in the creation of equal conditions for all candidates , as well as ensuring their rights. " -03D04-
