Nazim Beidemirli's wife announced deterioration of his health
The health condition of the former deputy and businessman Nazim Beydemirli, is deteriorating in prison, his wife said. "Despite the fact that Nasim Beydemirli's health condition is deteriorating every day, our request to transfer him to house arrest is not being satisfied," the Facebook page wrote.
In her opinion, N. Beydemirli is being condemned to the slow death and this will be a disgrace for the state.
F.Beydemirli notes that her husband has "innocently" been detained for the 404th day. In spite of the fact that N.Beydemirli's numerous complaints have not been considered for years, he has now been detained for more than a year on the basis of an unfounded complaint against him by an "illiterate person".
In an interview with a Turan correspondent F. Beydemirli pointed out that her husband suffers from many diseases. "There is an impulsive blockade in Nazim's heart. He suffers from blood pressure. He often gets dizzy. However, he is not provided with treatment. When I make statements, they send doctors and take tests. However, we doubt the reliability of the analysis results. Nazim had problems with his teeth," F. Beydemirli said.
She also emphasized an unjustified delay in the trial of N.Beiydemirli, which began on April 29. *N. Beydemirli was detained on July 4, 2023 by the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Interior Ministry on charges of violating Article 182.2.4 (Extortion by threats to seize property) of the Criminal Code.
The next day, the court arrested him for 4 months. Beydemirli rejected the accusation as saying that it was fabricated. According to him, the real reason for the arrest is his support for the protests of the residents of the village of Seyudlu in the Gedabey region against environmental pollution.
On September 1, another charge was brought against Beydemirli – violation of Article 182.2.2 (extortion by threats, committed repeatedly) of the Criminal Code.
According to the lawyer, this accusation is based on the fact that Beydemirli allegedly extorted money from someone in 1996 in the city of Lipetsk of the Russian Federation.
Human rights activists recognized Beydemirli as a political prisoner.
