New Appointments in Cabinet of Ministers
Baku / 23.04.18 / Turan: On April 23, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on new appointments to the Cabinet of Ministers. This included the following appointments: Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov, Minister of Defense Industry Yaver Jamalov, Minister of Health Ogtay Shiraliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Mubariz Gurbanly, Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Committee for Property Issues Kerem Hasanov, Head of the State Mobilization and Conscription Service Arzu Rahimov, and Chairman of the Food Safety Agency Goshgar Tahmazly.
Abulfas Garayev was appointed Minister of Culture. Previously, he headed the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, which has been divided into the Ministry of Culture and the State Agency for Tourism. Fuad Naghiyev was appointed the head of the latter.
Mukhtar Babayev, the new Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, who previously headed Azerkimya PA of the state oil company (SOCAR), replaced Huseyngulu Baghirov as Minister.
The new Minister of Education is Jeyhun Bayramov, who served as the head of this department after Mikayil Jabbarov headed the Ministry of Taxes in December last year.
The new Chairman of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora is MP Fuad Muradov.
The State Customs Committee is headed by Safar Mehdiyev, who was previously the deputy head of this department.
The new head of the State Migration Service is MP Vusal Huseynov, who was Secretary of the State Commission for Fighting Corruption in the past. -06D--

Official Baku has condemned the visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda to the Azerbaijan-Armenia border during his official visit to Armenia. "The visit of Polish President Andrzej Duda to the to Armenia-Azerbaijan border area in the company of members of the EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA), unfortunately, is another demonstration of anti-Azerbaijani policy of different EU member countries and European institutions. We deeply regret that President of the country which is officially a “strategic partner” of Azerbaijan has participated in the unacceptable diplomatic “binocular show” leading to the aggravation of relations between Azerbaijan and Poland,”" reads the statement on the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ account on X (formerly Twitter).

According to the “Times of India”, the first batch of “Pinaka” missile systems has been delivered to Armenia.
