New Assistant to the President about the forthcoming economic reforms
The concept of economic reforms in Azerbaijan will cover four main areas, said in an interview with AzTV Natig Amirov Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan on economic issues.
The first direction is connected with the stability of the financial markets, the liquidity of AZN, restoration and strengthening financial discipline, he said.
Azerbaijan's currency reserves total approximately $38 billion. This figure exceeds the gross domestic product. The State in possession of such strategic resources, cannot experience financial difficulties. However, the correct, rational use of resources and increase gross domestic product by subsequent conversion of finance to additional value are the priority.
For this reason has been set up the Chamber to monitor the financial markets. Since March, the Central Bank, as well as the Chamber and other relevant bodies will take very serious decisions to increase the liquidity of the manat in the country, and the activity of the manat in the country will be fully restored, said Amirov.
The second major trend is associated with export promotion. To this end, the President instructed to create a framework for the promotion of exports, which will explore the economy of neighboring countries, and determine what products Azerbaijan can deliver to their markets. It provides to attract investors through a new privatization program, the preparation of which is carried out with the participation of international experts, said Amirov.
According to him, unlike the previous privatization programs, now the new owners will be required to present investment projects of enterprises' activity after the divestiture.
The third main direction of the reforms is the formation of the internal market and the termination of import dependence. The fourth direction of the reform concept is to encourage entrepreneurs, and in particular the producers of agricultural products through public procurement. "The president instructed the developing a system in which the state will make orders for agricultural products a year in advance. The entrepreneur knows that if he can not completely sell the produce, the State will buy from him the rest. This process is very transparent, and can be carried out via the Internet, promised Natig Amirov. -06D-
