NIDA activist fired from her job for political reasons
The management of International School (American School in Baku, which has no relation to the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan) has been demanded to dismiss a Board member of the youth movement NIDA Aygun Panjalieva teaching French in this school for three years till now. Panjalieva wrote this on her Facebook page. According to her, otherwise the "top" has threatened the school with closure.
"I do not expect anything from the the American Embassy, or from other embassies, or from international organizations. This is not the first case of such an attitude. The fact that they are present in the country or not makes no difference. If our government does not respect dissent, what can you expect from others?
Local "pile of trash" thinks I'll stay out of work and I will die of hunger.
I'm 100 percent confident in my knowledge, experience and responsibility. The only thing that depresses me is that I can no longer teach my disciples," writes Panjalieva.
Earlier, 7 activists of NIDA were arrested, and charged with illegal possession of explosives and / or possessing illegal drugs. Amnesty International has recognized all the arrested youths "prisoners of conscience." -16D06 -
