Nikol Pashinyan continues to lead among Armenian politicians
Baku/12.03.21/Turan: If the parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, 33% of Armenian citizens would vote for the ruling “My Step” Bloc, 3% for the “Prosperous Armenia” Party, 2% for the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharian ...
The Republican Party of Armenia, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation “Dashnaktsutyun”, the “Sasna Tsrer” Party and the “Movement for the Salvation of the Fatherland” would receive approximately 1% each. Less than 1% of voters would vote for the Enlightened Armenia Party.
These are the results of poll conducted by the International Republican Institute (IRI). A significant part of the respondents - 42%, said they did not want to vote for any force.
The coordinator of the “Transparency International” programs Varuzhan Oktanyan explains the position of 42% of the respondents also by post-war despair, disillusionment with the government, lack of alternative forces and endless contradictions between the current and former forces.
It is appropriate to compare these data with the results of the February poll in Armenia conducted by the MPG (Marketing Professional Group) Consulting Company, which represents the Gallup International Association in Armenia.
In mid-February 2021, when asked: "If early parliamentary elections are held next Sunday, who will you vote for," 33.1% of respondents chose the "My Step" party, 4.4% - "Prosperous Armenia", 2.6% - "Enlightened Armenia", 2.2% - for the RPA, 2.2% - ARF, 0.9% - "Rodina", 0.7% - "Respublika", 0.4% - "Sasna Tsrer", etc. ...
The poll also showed a drop in the ratings of the current and former leaders of Armenia. Thus, on a 5-point scale, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan scored 2.8 points; Armenian President Armen Sargsyan - 2.3 points; the first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan - 1.7 points; the second President Robert Kocharian - 2 points; the third President Serzh Sargsyan - 1.7 points; leader of the Prosperous Armenia party Gagik Tsarukyan - 2.2 points; leader of the Enlightened Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan - 1.8 points; leader of the Rodina party - Artur Vanetsyan 1.5 points; leader of the movement salvation of the Motherland Vazgen Manukyan, and the head of the ARFD Ishkhan Saghatelyan - 1.6 points each.
For a month, N. Pashinyan's party "My Step" retained its popularity, having lost only about 1% of potential voters, two polls in Armenia showed.
In the 2018 parliamentary elections, the “My Step” Bloc received over 70% of the vote, Enlightened Armenia - 6.37%, Prosperous Armenia - 8.26% .— 0—
