"No plans to tighten restrictive measures because of "omicron are planned" - head of the Ministry of Health
Baku/10.02.22/Turan: A reason for sharp rise in coronavirus infections in recent days is the spread of "omicron" strain. However, infections with "delta" strain are also recorded. Teymur Musayev, Minister of Health of Azerbaijan, said this at a press conference on Thursday.
At the same time, he pointed out that there are currently no plans to tighten quarantine measures. "The situation is manageable and under control," he emphasized.
At the moment 20% of the fund of hospital beds and 10% of places in intensive care units have been involved.
He added that the tightening of measures will depend on the number of infections and the dynamics of hospitalization.
The Minister recalled that after February 15, the certification deadline for those who were double vaccinated six months ago expires.
"I urge all citizens to take a booster dose to strengthen the immune system," the Minister said.
As of today, 601 adolescents have been vaccinated, he said, without any negative consequences.
As for the stock of vaccines in the country, there is no shortage and their supply is sufficient.-16D-
