Oktay Asadov: We Are Not Afraid of PACE Sanctions
Baku / 18.05.18 / Turan: Official Baku continues to pretend that the sanctions imposed against the head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov do not matter. Speaker Oktay Asadov said this at the plenary session of Milli Majlis on Friday.
He called not to exaggerate the importance of the PACE sanctions, which stipulate the freezing of Seyidov's mandate and his participation in the activities of the Council of Europe.
PACE has adopted several decisions on sanctions against Azerbaijan. They are unfair, but we should not exaggerate their importance and Seyidov will continue to participate in the work of PACE, he said.
Further, Asadov repeated the traditional and erroneous thesis that PACE had never discussed the Karabakh conflict, allegedly because of the opposition of the pro-Armenian forces.
Apparently Asadov does not listen attentively to the speeches of the head of state Ilham Aliyev, who highly assessed the PACE resolutions with the recognition of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
At the same time, representatives of the Azerbaijani government do not respond to concrete accusations about why millions of euros were transferred to the PACE deputies for the failure of resolutions on violations of human rights in Azerbaijan. -02D-
