Opposition Demands Prosecutor General's Office to Investigate Pandora's Dossier
Baku/18.10.21/Turan: The leaders of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) and the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) - Jamil Hasanli and Ali Karimli appealed to the country's Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev in connection with the international journalistic investigation of the Pandorra Dossier.
According to the document published in this dossier, the family of the President of Azerbaijan acquired real estate in the UK for 429 million pounds (694 million dollars).
Hasanli and Karimli remind that high-ranking official of Azerbaijan have previously appeared in international scandals with “money laundering” and transfer of funds to offshore companies.
In 2017, the NCDF already appealed to the country's Prosecutor General's Office regarding another scandalous investigation - the “Azerbaijani Laundromat”, according to which $ 3 billion was withdrawn from the country and laundered.
The Popular Front Party and the NCDF believe that the Prosecutor General's Office should initiate criminal cases on the above facts and conduct a thorough and impartial investigation.
The appeal cites specific articles of legislation, according to which the prosecutor's office is obliged to initiate investigations in the above cases. Earlier, the Musavat party made a similar appeal, but no reaction followed. -06D-
