OSCE Chairman Calls on Armenia and Azerbaijan to Comply with Truce
The OSCE Chairperson, Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has expressed concern at the deteriorating situation in Karabakh and the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
In a statement Dacic calls to respect the ceasefire.
"I'm sorry about clashes in which people die, urge the parties to avoid actions that contribute to an increase in tension."
"The Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Sochi, Newport and Paris were positive. OSCE tries to simplify the establishment of direct contacts, but the parties must make their military commanders respect the ceasefire.
I express my support for the Special Representative Andrzei Kasprzyk. He was mandated to facilitate the establishment of direct contacts, and he should prepare more peacekeeping activities between the parties.
I also support the efforts of the Co to consolidate the ceasefire and create a basis for negotiations,” the document says. -02D-
