Pashinyan: Azerbaijan wants to clear Karabakh from its inhabitants
Yerevan/11.10.18/Turan: In an interview with France 24, Prime Minister Nikolay Pashinyan mentioned his conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Dushanbe. He noted that he did not discuss ways to resolve the conflict. "What we discussed with Mr. Aliyev was not a solution to the Karabakh conflict. In fact, we discussed how to create a situation that would allow peace talks," said Pashinyan, adding that it is impossible to talk about resolving the issue without having the conditions to achieve it. Pashinyan noted, in Dushanbe they noted the fact that the situation is too tense to start any decision.
Confirming that the negotiation process should take place within the framework of the co-chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group, Pashinyan said: "The format has never been the subject of negotiations, and we do not demand any changes." Touching on the position of Baku, Pashinyan accused Azerbaijan of not wanting to speak with representatives of Karabakh.
"How can Karabakh be in the power of Azerbaijan, if Azerbaijan does not even speak with them, with the people of Karabakh? This clearly shows what exactly Azerbaijan needs from Karabakh: get the land, not the people. Their main concern is to clear Karabakh from its inhabitants," said Pashinyan. -02D-
