Pashinyan makes it clear that he does not accept Baku`s conditions for concluding peace
Baku/23.03.23/Turan: Yerevan considers unacceptable the statement of Ilham Aliyev of March 18 that Armenia must accept Azerbaijan's conditions on the delimitation of the border, otherwise there will be no peace treaty, the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a government meeting on Thursday, March 23.
He called it an "act of aggression" and a "gross violation of the agreements reached at the highest level." In particular, Pashinyan referred to previous agreements "on mutual recognition of sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, in accordance with the UN Charter and the 1991 Almaty Declaration," the Prime Minister said.
According to Pashinyan, these statements record that the borders of the Soviet republics have become their state borders, but "Azerbaijan constantly talks about delimitation based on some historical maps, which is absolutely unacceptable."
Therefore, Armenia insists that "international mechanisms are necessary" for the implementation of the agreements.
Pashinyan also touched upon the speech of Ilham Aliyev in the village of Talysh, calling it "proof of the policy of ethnic cleansing and genocide."
Azerbaijan demonstrates ensuring the rights and security of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh or "integration" by demolishing their houses, building houses for Azerbaijanis in their place, Pashinyan said.
It is noteworthy that at the end of the meeting, Pashinyan stated that there would be an agreement on peace with Azerbaijan, and it "would be based on written documents reached so far at the highest level." ---02D---
