Pashinyan: the main contradictions at the meeting in Brussels have not been resolved
Baku/08.09.22/Turan: At the trilateral meeting of the heads of Armenia, Azerbaijan and the President of the European Council in Brussels, it was not possible to fix common positions on the most important issues,Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a meeting with the Armenian community in Vladivostok on Thursday.
“Azerbaijan believes that the problem of Nagorno-Karabakh has been resolved, and there is nothing more to discuss. Our position and, obviously, also the position of the international community do not coincide with the position of Azerbaijan,” he said, referring to the position of Russia.
Speaking about the opening regional communications, he noted that it is beneficial for Armenia. In particular, food is more expensive in Armenia due to the lack of rail links with other countries, he said. Armenia is interested in opening regional communications. Today, the entire economy of Armenia depends on the Upper Lars road, and today this road is even more loaded.
“Cars can enter and leave Armenia, Georgia and Iran, we are not against the same thing happening with Azerbaijan and Turkey. A final agreement on this issue has not yet been reached. This is due to some legal norms on which our views have not yet finally agreed,” he said.
“The opening of the road does not pose any threat to Armenia and the Syunik region, on the contrary, it will bring additional guarantees of security and stability. Another question is that people in Azerbaijan often talk about the corridor. I want to clearly state that we will not give anyone a corridor through the territory of Armenia,” Pashinyan said. --02D--

Journalist Nargiz Abaslamova, held in Baku's Detention Center No. 1, was subjected to violence by a guard. While passing by the cell of her colleague Sevinj Vagifgizi, Abaslamova tried to greet her, reported on Abzas Media's Facebook page. However, guard Aygul Babaeva forcibly dragged Abaslamova away and deeply scratched the journalist's arm. Abaslamova stated that this is not the first time the mentioned guard has used force and been rude to journalists. A few days ago, Babaeva also used force against Sevinj Vagifgizi.
