Peacekeepers are headed by a new commander again?
Baku/11.01.22/Turan: The Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh will be headed by Major General Andrey Volkov. This was reported on Tuesday by the Armenian media quoting the peacekeeping command.
According to the same sources the change of the commander is done within the framework of a planned rotation.
It should be added that Major General Volkov was the deputy commander of the Russian peacekeeping force in Nagorno Karabakh from November 2020 until May 2021, when the peacekeepers were headed by Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov.
Volkov is currently the chief of radiation, chemical and biological protection (RCBP) troops of the Southern Military District of the Russian Defense Ministry.
Lieutenant General Gennady Anashkin has been the commander of the peacekeeping contingent in Karabakh since September 2021.-02D-

On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
