Pennsylvania Lawmakers Pass Resolution on Khojaly Tragedy
House of Representatives of Pennsylvania on March 20 adopted a resolution on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy.
According to the Azerbaijani embassy in the U.S., the paper pays tribute to the victims of the crime committed by the Armenian armed forces in Khojaly. It states that the events in Khojaly became an integral part of the policy of military aggression and ethnic cleansing carried out by Armenian armed forces in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan since 1988.
The resolution also emphasizes that the Khojaly tragedy was regarded by international non-governmental organizations as a terrible tragedy, in breach of customs of war.
Earlier, similar resolutions in connection with the 21st anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy were adopted by other American states - Mississippi, Maine, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Tennessee. -06D-
