Preparations are in progress for the return of seven Gazakh villages?
Baku/22.12.21/Turan: On Wednesday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk in Yerevan.
In compliance with the press service of the Armenian government, among other issues, the sides discussed prospects of restoring transport communications in the South Caucasus region and the activities of a trilateral working group co-chaired by Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan.
In the meanwhile, Hraparak newspaper once again reported that the construction of alternative roads in Tavush region has begun.
In particular, a new road is being built to Askipara (Voskepar) village. This is an Azerbaijani enclave occupied by Armenians back in the early 90s.
It ought to be noted that total 7 villages of Gazakh region of Azerbaijan are under Armenian occupation. Three villages are located in two enclaves, while the rest are in the border area. -02B-

Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, who arrived in Baku today, held a press conference at the COP29 climate conference. When asked about the arrested climate activists and opposition figures in Azerbaijan, she stated that Germany advocates for the release of government critics and that she would raise this issue during her meeting with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister. Activist Nijat Ibrahim, who was detained in Baku pre-trial detention center-1, inflicted numerous wounds on himself on November 20 in protest against unjustified criminal prosecution, his wife Parvin Ibrahim told Turan. According to her, on November 21, her husband called her and informed her that the day before he had inflicted incised wounds on himself with a piece of mirror. In particular, he cut his throat and ears.
