President Azerbaijan Invited to Anniversary Meeting of Eastern Partnership
Baku / 29.04.19 / Turan: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has been invited to the meeting of the leaders of the EU Eastern Partnership countries, which will be held in Brussels in May.
It is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership program. The summit will bring together the heads of 6 countries, including Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the head of the EU mission in Azerbaijan, Ambassador Kestutis Jankauskas, said today.
The results of the negotiations on a new agreement between Azerbaijan and the EU on partnership will probably be summed up to this significant date.
Yankauskas reminded that last week the parties held negotiations on trade issues. The negotiations will continue via video conferencing this week.
"Without mentioning the date, I will say that we will work for the earliest signing of the agreement," said Yankauskas.
Earlier, the parties stated that they are close to finalizing the agreement.
The event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership program is scheduled to take place in Brussels on May 13. -06D--
