President of Azerbaijan Receives Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Federation
Baku/01.04.21/Turan: On Thursday, April 1, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, who is solving problems of the implementation of agreements between Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on the restoration of communications and regional cooperation after the conclusion of the truce.
As reported by the presidential press service, welcoming the guest, Aliyev said the work within the Trilateral Intergovernmental Commission is progressing successfully, and "very intensive consultations are underway."
“I am glad that the correctness of the decision has been confirmed and, most importantly, that there is already a concrete result,” Aliyev said, without specifying what he meant.
Further, Aliyev said the parties held five meetings and “there is a topic for discussion; this topic is important for economic benefits, regional cooperation, security and peace consolidation. The post-conflict situation is developing in a positive direction, and the risks of escalation are minimal,” he said.
In turn, Overchuk said the Trilateral Commission held five face-to-face and video meetings. There is some progress in the work and the work continues in close contact. Very good ties have been established between the parties, Overchuk noted. -02D-
