President of Tatarstan Visits Azerbaijan, Showcasing Economic Collaboration
Baku/17.06.23/Turan: President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov arrived in Azerbaijan on an official visit on Saturday. It is noteworthy that his plane landed not in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, but at the new airport of the Zangelan district, liberated from the Armenian occupation in 2020.
Later, President Ilham Aliyev also arrived in Zangelan.
Aliyev and Minnikhanov took the opportunity to get acquainted with a joint Russian-Azerbaijani enterprise called "Auto Leasing Azerbaijan". This innovative enterprise arose as a result of cooperation between KAMAZ, a well-known Russian manufacturer of trucks, and the Ganja Automobile Plant.
The company's main focus will be on the maintenance of trucks and agricultural machinery, playing a vital role in these sectors.
Subsequently, Aliyev and Minnikhanov visited the newly built village of Agaly, where they had meaningful conversations with local residents.
During their talks, Rustam Minnikhanov noted a notable achievement, saying that the trade turnover between Tatarstan and Azerbaijan exceeded $ 125 million by the end of last year. This figure represents an impressive 78% increase over the previous year.
In response, Aliyev expressed deep optimism about the significant prospects for further expansion of bilateral economic cooperation between Tatarstan and Azerbaijan. -0-
