President signs order on conscription
Baku/20.05.23/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order on regular call-up of Azerbaijani citizens for fixed-term military service and discharge of full-time military servicemen.
According to the document, citizens of Azerbaijan born in 2005, who will be 18 years old on the day of draft, will be called up for fixed-term military service from 1 to 30 July. Also, subject to conscription are the citizens born between 1988 and 2004, up to 35 years old, who have not passed compulsory military service, have no right to defer the call-up or not exempted from it.
At the same time, according to the document, from 1 to 30 July 2023, the military servicemen who have passed the term of military service must be enlisted into the reserve. -06В-

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.

On November 22, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed negotiations with Azerbaijan regarding a peace treaty in an interview with Public TV.
