Press Council member detained for selling fake documents
Baku/16.04.20/Turan: Chair of the Binagadi village of Baku, Niyaz Niftiev, and department head of the same structure, Sahib Abyshev, were detained for selling the 431st forged document, a joint statement by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General’s April 16 said.
It was established that from March 31 to April 14, these persons were detained in the office while selling documents to citizens allowing them to move freely under quarantine.
A lawsuit has been filed on the facts under Articles 320.1 (forgery of documents, stamps and forms) and 139-1.1 (violation of the quarantine regime in an epidemic) of the Criminal Code.
Niftiev and Abyshev are involved as defendants.
It is noteworthy that Niftiev is a journalist, a member of the Press Council.
