Pressure on Gubad Ibadoglu in custody continues - brother
Baku/25.08.23/Turan: Psychological pressure on the arrested chairman of the Democracy and Welfare Party, economist scientist Gubad Ibadoglu continues. This was reported to Turan by his brother Ghalib Togrul.
"The administration of the Kurdakhana pre-trial detention center continues psychological pressure on Gubad.
So, the light is not turned off at night for 33 days in his cell . This is no longer psychological pressure, but physical torture," he said. According to him, Ibadoglu cannot sleep properly, which exacerbates his illnesses: "His blood sugar level does not decrease, his blood pressure does not drop, his pulse remains high."
In turn, it was not possible to get a comment from the Penitentiary Service.
* On July 24, the Narimanov district court of Baku arrested Gubad Ibadoglu for 3 months and 26 days on charges of making counterfeit money. The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry said that Ibadoglu is associated with supporters of Fethullah Gulen, accused of an attempted coup in Turkey in 2016.
Gubad Ibadoglu denies the accusations, considering them absurd. Many international organizations and officials have called on official Baku to immediately release the politician. -16B06-
