Prosecutor's Office brought to justice 19 officials for taking bribes
Baku/17.04.23/Turan: The Main Anti-Corruption Department under the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan has completed the investigation of the criminal case against a group of officials of the State Service for Real Estate Property and the executive authorities of a number of regions accused of large-scale bribery.
According to the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office, the head of the department of land management and geodesy of the State Service for Real Estate Property, in collusion with representatives of municipalities and executive authorities, organized the illegal sale of municipal land in 169 cases for bribes.
Total 19 officers were brought to criminal responsibility for these cases, including employees of the State Service for Real Estate Ildyrym Mammadov, his subordinate Asad Nasibov and the heads of Gazakh, Beylagan, Sheki, Ujar, Shirvan, Khachmaz, Gabala, Jalilabad, Barda and Lankaran territorial divisions of the Service. Heads of municipalities of Saray settlement of Absheron region, Kokhmug village of Sheki region, Dashsalahly villages of Gazakh and Shorsulu villages of Salyan region, as well as a head of department in Sumgait city municipality and a deputy head of executive power of Kurdamir region are also involved.
The above-mentioned persons are charged under Articles 308.2 of the Criminal Code (abuse of authority, resulting in grave consequences), 311.3.1, 311.3.2, 311.3.3 (repeated large-scale bribery by a group of persons), 312-1 (illegal influence on the decision of an official), etc.
The case was sent to the Baku Court of Grave Crimes. -03-
