Prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank discussed
Baku/22.09.23/Turan: On September 22,President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received World Bank Regional Director for the South Caucasus Mrs. Rolande Pryce.
According to the website of the head of state, Aliyev thanked the World Bank for supporting the modernization and diversification of the Azerbaijani economy. He stressed the importance of identifying future specific directions and projects.
Aliyev drew attention to the fact that Azerbaijan has been making efforts to reduce its external debt for many years and "this goal has already been achieved." Pryce, for her part, noted that "Azerbaijan has achieved significant development and high results."
The meeting also saw discussions on the existing directions of World Bank’s operations in Azerbaijan as well as new areas and projects stemming from the “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities on socio-economic development”.
They noted that major areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and World Bank are renewable energy, green economy and cities, transport coordination, agriculture and irrigation. --06B--
