Protest rally in front of the Iranian Embassy
Baku / 23.11.19 / Turan: About a dozen activists of the Popular Movement of Azerbaijan on Saturday made an attempt to hold a protest in front of the Iranian embassy in Baku.
They protested against the brutal suppression of protests in this country, including repressions against the Azerbaijani population in Tabriz and other cities of South Azerbaijan.
The police allowed a picket petition to be read out and then forced the picketers to leave. At the same time, several protesters were detained.
According to the head of the party of the “Classic” Popular Front of Azerbaijan, Mirmahmud Miralioglu, they were brought to the Sabail District Court and fined 200 manat.
After the trial, the fined were put in police cars and taken in various directions.
“They were taken to Alyat, Goba (60 km from Baku) and when they released it they said that you want to come back yourself,” Miralioglu said. –06D-

On November 26, the Baku Court of Appeals heard a complaint regarding the extension of the detention of former diplomat Emin Ibrahimov. During the hearing, the investigator requested that the complaint be rejected, while Ibrahimov's lawyer, Aghil Laidj, pointed out the lack of grounds for keeping Ibrahimov in custody.
