Protests in Yerevan against Pashinyan and Russia
Baku/19.09.23/Turan: Several thousand people on the evening of September 19 began a protest rally in the center of Yerevan in front of the government house. They are chanting anti-government slogans and demanding the resignation of Nikol Pashinyan.
Later, several hundred people tried to break into the building through police cordons. Law enforcement forces used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse the protesters.
Several thousand more people are rallying in front of the Russian Embassy in Yerevan, demanding that Moscow protect Armenians in Karabakh. -0-

On Monday, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, who is currently on a working visit to Belgrade, was received by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. On December 23, a meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Serbia took place in Belgrade. During the final press conference, Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric reported that the discussions focused on the development of tourism. "We are strengthening efforts to open direct air routes, as well as economic development and energy," said Djuric. The minister expressed confidence that cooperation between Serbia and Azerbaijan would become even closer and more intensive in the near future.

On Monday, hearings in the case of activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev continued at the Baku Court for Serious Crimes. At the beginning of the session, Hajiyev drew attention to the unjustified criminal prosecution of activist Raheel Abbasov, who had previously organized public defense for Hajiyev.
