Putin chaired a Security Council meeting on the situation in the Caspian region
Moscow/30.04.21/Turan: On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the Security Council on the situation in the Caspian region. Putin noted that the region is very important for Russia, the Kremlin press service.
“This also applies to issues of economic activity and interaction with our closest partners and allies. And of course, this concerns the issues of ensuring security, Russia's interests in the Caspian region as a whole,” he said.
Putin clarified that the talk is about energy projects and expansion of economic activity of Russia.
He highlighted the situation around Iran and, in particular, the nuclear program of this country, because of which sanctions were imposed on it.
The topic of the conversation is a whole set of issues related to ensuring Russia's interests in the Caspian region, Putin stressed. -02D-
