Baku/29.04.21/Turan: The Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) continues to make political statements after this department was headed by the former head of the presidential administration Ramiz Mehdiyev.
Thus, a statement on April 27 said that, "Azerbaijani scientists are observing with deep concern the process of the split in Azerbaijani society in recent months and the disagreements between the people and the state."
The recognition by the US president of the "Armenian genocide", the contradictory behavior of Russia in Nagorno-Karabakh and the intensive discussion by French officials of the need to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh promise problems for Azerbaijan in the near future.
“There is no doubt that these processes will have serious consequences for both Azerbaijan and brotherly Turkey. Apparently, the major powers intend to use the Armenian card against Azerbaijan and Turkey, which are gaining strength and defending their interests, as was the case at the beginning of the twentieth century.
We hope that those who blindly and naively believe in justice and humanism in Europe and the United States and hope for the support of Western structures will draw the necessary conclusions from what happened. These people must understand that the interests of the great powers in relation to Azerbaijan are based on the natural resources of our country and its favorable geopolitical location,” the ANAS Presidium said in a statement.
In such a situation, the main task of everyone, regardless of political views, beliefs and social affiliation, should be the protection of Azerbaijan.
“One cannot fail to see the threat when dangerous geopolitical games are going on around our country, and sacrifice the interests of the Motherland in favor of petty political or material interests. Anyone who does not think about the fate of homeland should be ashamed. It is shameful to fight for position and wealth in difficult times,” the statement reads. At the same time, the Presidium of ANAS does not explain about what and whom it is talking.
As head of the presidential administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev for 25 years wrote gray articles with moralizing and accusations against the West. Once in the Academy of Sciences, he apparently decided that this was real science, but most likely, he realized that he could not do anything else. —06D-
