Rauf Mirkadyrov decided to testify investigation
Accused of spying for Armenia, the columnist for Zerkalo, Rauf Mirkadyrov decided to testify investigation, said one of his lawyers Elmar Suleymanov.
After his arrest on April 21 Mirkadyrov refused to testify because he believed the accusations of espionage absurd.
"But now the journalist wants to clarify some points," said the lawyer, noting that lawyers turn to the investigation regarding this intention of Mirkadyrov.
The lawyer did not rule out that already on June 5 when considering his appeal, he will make a statement in court.
Elmar Suleymanov, commenting on the preliminary investigation, said it was almost not conducted against Mirkadyrov. "Until now, the investigation did not provide any evidence against the journalist," said the lawyer.
According to him, the investigation interrogates journalists and activists to obtain testimony against Mirkadyrov. However, any confrontation with Mirkadyrov was not conducted.
"This is indirect evidence that nobody gave testimony against Mirkadyrov," said the lawyer. -16D06-
