Reception in honor of the anniversary of the ascension of Queen Elizabeth II to the throne
Baku/02.06.22/Turan: On June 1, the British Embassy in Azerbaijan hosted a reception on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the ascension to the throne of Queen Elizabeth II. Speaking to the audience, British Ambassador James Sharp spoke about the multifaceted ties between the two countries.
Over the course of 30 years of diplomatic relations, these ties have steadily expanded, deepened, and today have reached a strategic partnership. Sharp emphasized, bilateral partnership covers such areas as cooperation, European energy security, investment, development of the non-oil sector, support to the people and government of Ukraine, etc.
Sharp also noted the gift of the President of Azerbaijan to the Queen - the Karabakh horse. Speaking on behalf of the government of Azerbaijan, Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov noted the establishment of high-level political relations between the two countries, the development of ties in the economic, humanitarian and other spheres.
He also expressed Azerbaijan's satisfaction with the strategic cooperation with BP in the oil and gas sector. The results of this cooperation have been a number of major projects, as well as the creation of such a gigantic infrastructure, including the TAP and TANAP pipelines Southern Gas Corridor. -16D06-
