Representatives of the ICRC are invited to travel to Karabakh through Azerbaijan only
Baku/20.10.21/Turan: On October 19, the head of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan, Ali Nagiyev, received the Vice-President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Gilles Carbonnier.
The meeting discussed issues arising from the implementation of the ICRC humanitarian mission in Azerbaijan, the State Security Service said in a statement.
Ali Nagiyev called for the activation of the ICRC's activities in search for persons missing during the First and Second Karabakh wars.
Also, he also called on Red Cross workers "to make visits to the territories that are temporarily under the control of Russian peacekeepers not from the territory of Armenia but from the territory of Azerbaijan only."
Besides, the meeting touched upon the return of Azerbaijani citizens and their family members from Syria, Iraq and other countries of the Middle East.
It should be noted that the implementation of humanitarian missions in Karabakh has been discussed by the ICRC leaders in Moscow and Yerevan in recent days. -02D-
