Representatives of the Ombudswoman of Azerbaijan visited Rashid Beglaryan
Baku/07.08.23/Turan: Members of the National Preventive Group (NPG) for the prevention of torture under the Ombudswoman of Azerbaijan conducted another monitoring in one of the pre-trial detention centers.
During the visit, along with other prisoners, they also met with Rashid Beglaryan, who was detained on August 1 during an attempt to violate the state border of Azerbaijan on a section passing through the village of Zabuh in the Lachin region. A confidential conversation was held with him, legislative acts were handed over in his native language.
During the monitoring, it was found that Beglaryan's rights are being ensured, he is receiving the necessary medical and psychological assistance, which was confirmed by him, the press release further says.
All persons accepted by the NPG members were explained the mechanisms for submitting appeals in connection with their rights, national legislation and international documents were presented, information publications were presented on the possibility of contacting the call center of the Ombudswoman's office 916. --06B--
