Representatives of the Turkic peoples of Iran will hold a protest rally in Berlin
Baku/12.05.23/Turan: Representatives of the Turkic peoples, immigrants from Iran will hold a rally in Berlin on May 20 under the slogan: "Freedom, justice, national government". The action will be attended by representatives of South Azerbaijan, Kashkai, Khorosan Turks, Iranian Turkmens, the message of the coordination center of the rally.
"We have opened a new page in the history of the national struggle against the racist Iranian Islamic regime. At a time when the bloody dictatorship in Iran continues to oppress our people, we believe that the rally in Berlin will be more massive. With a rally in Berlin, we will louder convey the demands of our nation to the whole world," the message says.
Saleh Kamrani, a representative of the coordination center of the rally, said that the protests in Iran in May 2006 were a turning point in the national movement of South Azerbaijan.
"On May 12, 2006, an offensive cartoon depicting 35 million Azerbaijani Turks as insects was published in the official newspaper Iran. This caused a powerful protest in Southern Azerbaijan. Security forces suppressed demonstrations in Tehran and dozens of other cities. According to official information, at least 30 people were killed, hundreds were injured," he said.
