Repressions against Azerbaijani activists in Tabriz intensified
Baku/21.11.22/Turan: In recent days, in the capital of South Azerbaijan (northern Iran), the authorities have arrested about a hundred local Azerbaijani activists. According to opposition telegram channels, these individuals took an active part in protests against the Tehran regime and violations of the rights of ethnic Azerbaijanis.
Among the arrested are members of the national dance group Fatima Mohammadi, Yu Milga Babazade, and Arash Ismailzade.
Up to 60 Iranian security officials have been killed in clashes with protesters since the start of the protests, according to "Farda News". Meanwhile, protests are increasingly spreading to settlements where the majority of the population is ethnic Azerbaijanis. --02B--

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.
