Russia and Turkey intend to launch 3+3
Baku/15.11.21/Turan: Consultations between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey Sedat Onal took place in Istanbul on November 15.
The sides discussed a wide range of topical issues of Russian-Turkish cooperation in the South Caucasus and Central Asia, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
In the context of normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan, the importance of consistent implementation of the trilateral agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021 was noted. The urgency of launching in the near future a regional consultative mechanism for the South Caucasus "3+3" (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia plus Russia, Turkey, Iran) was emphasized.
A substantive exchange of views took place on the situation in Central Asia, including taking into account recent events in Afghanistan.
A "reconciliation of hours" was carried out on a number of other issues related to the state of affairs in the CIS, in particular on the situation in Ukraine.
The progressive development of multifaceted Russian-Turkish cooperation has been stated, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
The idea of the "Platform of Six" was put forward by Erdogan after the end of the Second Karabakh War. It presupposes economic and political cooperation of the three countries of the South Caucasus - Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia with their neighbors - Turkey, Russia and Iran. -0—

According to a report by Turan correspondent, the discussions took place behind closed doors and lasted for over an hour. No statements were made to the press following the meeting. Furthermore, conference security prevented journalists from asking questions to the meeting participants.
