Russian Foreign Ministry: Format of Negotiations Cannot Be Changed Arbitrarily
Baku / 03/15/19 / Turan: Changing the format of the negotiations on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement is possible only with the consent of the parties. This was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova at a briefing in Moscow on March 15.
"Russia as a country, the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, has repeatedly spoken about the negotiation format, which can only be changed on the basis of the consent of the parties. This is not only our position, but also the position of the other members of the trio," she said.
"If at some stage the parties agree that Nagorno-Karabakh will be represented in the negotiations again, then this will be the decision of the parties, and we will respect it. This is not only our position, it is also the position of other members of the trio (OSCE MG)," she said, calling for attention to the last statement of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs of March 9. -02D-
