Baku/16.07.22/Turan: The chief customs officer of Azerbaijan was expelled after a series of corruption scandals.
On Saturday, the head of state Ilham Aliyev signed an order to dismiss Safar Mehdiyev from the post of chairman of the State Customs Committee.
Thus, Mehdiyev was found responsible for numerous facts of corruption in his department. In recent weeks, several operations of the State Security Service have been carried out in the customs system and several high-ranking officials have been arrested on charges of corruption.
Apparently, Safar Mehdiyev could be involved in these and crimes, and he may be next on the list of those brought to justice. -02B-

On January 24, the Sabail District Court continued the trial of Aziz Orujov, the head of the online publication Kanal-13.
