Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry about Bayramov-Mirzoyan meeting/UPDATED/

Baku/16.07.22/Turan: During the meeting held on July 16 in Tbilisi, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Armenia - Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan
touched upon a number of issues related to the normalization of relations between the two countries.

In this regard, as stated in the message of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, "the parties discussed the fulfillment of their obligations and exchanged views on possible further steps."

"Bayramov noted that all efforts should be aimed at achieving progress in the settlement of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, based on the post-conflict realities that have arisen after the resolution of the armed conflict between the two states," the message goes on.

In this context, the need to implement all the provisions of the Trilateral Declarations signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia, and in particular the withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the territory of Azerbaijan, was emphasized.

Concerning humanitarian issues, Bayramov drew attention to the importance of clarifying the fate of almost 4,000 missing Azerbaijanis.

The ministers stressed that they attach great importance to the continuation of a direct dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Both ministers expressed their gratitude to the Georgian side for organizing the meeting in Tbilisi, the message of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in conclusion.-06B-

Negotiations between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia completed in Tbilisi

Baku / 16.07.22 / Turan: A meeting was held in Tbilisi between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
The meeting, which took place at the Radisson Hotel in Tbilisi, began with the participation of Georgian Foreign Minister Ilya Darchiashvili.

The Georgian diplomat expressed gratitude to the parties for their trust and the decision to meet in Tbilisi.
He expressed confidence that joint efforts to build peace and stability in the region would yield results.”
Then Bayramov and Mirzoyan talked face to face, and then the negotiations were continued in an expanded composition of delegations.

In total, the negotiations lasted three hours. As a result, no press statements were made by the ministers.

This was the first direct meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia after the end of the second Karabakh war in the fall of 2020.—06B-
