Scandalous MP resigned from Press Council
Baku/07.02.22/Turan: MP Javanshir Feyziyev, whose name is mentioned in the corruption scandal, has resigned from the Azerbaijan Press Council. Feyziyev wrote about it on his Facebook page where he posted his appeal to the head of the Press Council Aflatun Amashev.
In his appeal, Feyziyev wrote that in his previous Facebook status he had only responded to critical publications in the press to his address.
"I agree that the text written in an emotional state was quite harsh and by writing an additional status I admitted my wrongdoing," the deputy writes.
With reference to the current situation and his excessive workload, he then announced his resignation from the Press Council.
The scandal around Feyziev started a few days ago when British press published a report of the National Criminal Agency about the confiscation of 5.6 million pounds from accounts in British banks belonging to Feyziev, describing them as illegal. https://turannews.com/ext/news/2022/1/free/Social/ru/978.htm/001
The Azerbaijani press gave its wide coverage to this event asking the question where did the deputy get so much money, why are they in foreign banks, and why is the deputy engaged in business if it is forbidden by law? Besides, there are still about 10 million pounds in the British banks which were not confiscated.
These publications provoked Feyziev's anger who accused the Azerbaijani media and some journalists of being corrupt and mean.
At the same time, the MP noted that all his income is legal and his business is transparent. -02D-
