Separatist leader confirms Armenians will leave Lachin
Baku/30.06.22/Turan: The leader of the Karabakh separatists, Arayik Harutyunyan, said today in the "parliament" of Karabakh that the Armenians should leave Lachin.
“The possibility of further life of our compatriots in Lachin is very small,” he said and noted that in case of refusal, “political figures or officials who do not live in Yerevan will answer, we will have to reap heavy rewards within seconds,” Harutyunyan said. .
According to the tripartite statement of November 10, 2020, the Armenians must return the city of Lachin in connection with the construction of a new road between Armenia and Karabakh. The current road passes through the city of Lachin, where there have never been Armenians.
The new road should be commissioned in the near future, however, part of the Armenian elite opposes leaving Lachin, which may cause new clashes with the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and another territorial loss for the Armenians. --02B--
