September 15 - Day of Liberation of Baku from Bolshevik-Dashnak Power
Baku / 15.09.20 / Turan: Today marks the 102nd anniversary of the liberation of Baku from the troops of the Socialist-Revolutionary-Menshevik government called Dictatorship of the Central Caspian, the armed detachments of the Armenian party Dashnaktsutyun and the British expeditionary group.
On September 15, 1918, the Caucasian Islamic Army, led by Nuru Pasha and units of the National Army of the Azerbaijan People's Republic (1918-20), liberated Baku from the occupation of hostile forces.
After that, the government of the Azerbaijan People's Republic (APR), proclaimed on May 28, 1918, moved from Ganja to Baku.
During the fighting for the liberation of Baku, about a thousand Turkish soldiers and officers and five thousand citizens of Azerbaijan were killed.
Despite the fact that power in Baku passed into the hands of the APR government, Karabakh remained under the control of the Dashnaks. Units of the Caucasian Islamic Army were sent to the specified region, and Nuri Pasha himself went to Aghdam to command the units on the spot. Soon the army led by him entered Shusha and raised the Azerbaijani flag over the city.
On the occasion of the significant date, on the eve and today, the Alley of Martyrs and the Memorial of Turkish Soldiers in Baku were visited by representatives of the public and employees of the Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan.
At the same time, today the police obstructed the action of the National Council of Democratic Forces. During the speech of the leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Karimli, the police began to push the members and supporters of the National Council away from the Memorial.
Karimli, in order to avoid confrontation, called on his supporters not to go to confrontation. He managed to say that he wants the Azerbaijani state to be strong in order to liberate Karabakh, as Baku was liberated in 1918.
In connection with the memorable date, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a message to the head of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in which he notes that, 102 years ago, the Caucasian Islamic Army laid the foundation for brotherhood between the peoples of the two countries, which continues to this day.
Turkey, as before, is together with Azerbaijan, Erdogan said.-05D06-
