Serbian Security Council Head Explains in Baku about Arms Supplies to Armenia
Baku / 11.08.20 / Turan: On the morning of August 11, the head of the Serbian Security Council Neboisha Stefanovic began a meeting with the head of the Azerbaijani Security Council Ramil Usubov. The topic of the meeting was the supply of arms to Armenia, which caused discontent in Azerbaijan.
According to the official report, the meeting is also attended by the assistant to the President of Azerbaijan for foreign policy Hikmet Hajiyev, Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Belgrade Eldar Hasanov.
Recall that official Baku sharply condemned Belgrade for the supply of weapons to Armenia, which were used during the hostilities on July 12-17 in the Tovuz direction against the civilian population and servicemen of Azerbaijan.
The head of the Serbian diplomatic mission was summoned to the Foreign Ministry for an explanation. After that, a telephone conversation took place between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Serbia, during which the head of Serbia expressed regret and promised to send a delegation to Baku to investigate the incident. At the same time, the Serbian Minister of Trade made a statement that there was nothing illegal in the supply of arms to Armenia. -02D-
